installation | THE WANTED POSTER

2022 | made for THE NEXT POSTER exhibition @ DESIGNFORUM GRAZ and exhibited from 21.09.22 until 23.12.2022. posters and adverts consume a lot of energy while they are lit until late at night, but most of the time, they are by themselves. no one there to look at them, engage with them – only burning electricity and causing light pollution. and adding insult to injury, nobody was asked if they wanted exposure to said poster in the first place. with this poster, its contents are only revealed when someone is present and physically interacts with a button press. it not only saves energy; it also gives back control to the viewer: with an opt-in-approach if they choose to view the poster by their own free will – preventing unsolicited exposure – ultimately making it a “wanted” poster.
